Annual leave entitlement and the Ethiopian public holiday calendar.
Entitlement
Sixteen working days of annual leave in the first year of service, rising by one working day for every two further years, in line with Labour Proclamation 1156/2019. Leave is requested in the Time Off application and approved by the line manager before it is taken.

Hospitality outlets trade on public holidays; staff rostered on a holiday take the day in lieu within the same month.
The fiscal year
The company's financial year runs Hamle 1 to Sene 30. Leave balances are carried on the same cycle, so a balance not taken by Sene 30 lapses unless the division head has approved a carry-forward in writing.
