⚖️ Code of Conduct

Controlled document. Conflicts of interest, gifts, safeguarding and whistleblowing.

Approved

Conflicts of interest

Declare any relationship — family, financial or contractual — with a supplier, a member organisation or a customer of the group before taking part in a decision that affects them. A declaration is not a disqualification; an undeclared interest is a disciplinary matter.

Gifts and hospitality

Gifts above ETB 500 in value may not be accepted. Meals taken in the ordinary course of business are acceptable and need no declaration; anything that could reasonably look like an inducement does.

Safeguarding

Relief & Development staff working with communities are bound by the group's safeguarding policy and by the requirements of each donor agreement, whichever is stricter.

Raising a concern

Concerns may be raised with a line manager, with the Head of Corporate Services, or anonymously to the Board Secretary. Nobody is disadvantaged for raising a concern in good faith.
